Harrison Foundation supports NE Youth’s Young Leaders Programme

The Harrison Foundation is proud to support local youth development charity, NE Youth, with a £1,000 award to help fund their Young Leaders employability programme.

As part of our commitment to creating opportunities for young people, this funding will enable an entire cohort to gain valuable skills, confidence, and accreditation that will help them on their journey into the workplace.

The Young Leaders programme is a three-day initiative designed to equip young people with leadership skills, personal development opportunities, and workplace readiness. A key part of the programme includes a sports element that offers an accredited Go Lead qualification, helping participants strengthen their CVs and stand out to future employers.

At the Harrison Foundation, we understand that getting into work can be challenging and we’re determined to help remove as many barriers as possible. It’s not just about qualifications—it’s also about having the confidence and wider skills needed to succeed in job applications, interviews, and career progression. By funding initiatives like Young Leaders, we are investing in the next generation and helping to create new opportunities.

Daniel Harrison, trustee of the Harrison Foundation, emphasised the importance of supporting employability programmes like this:

“We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to build a bright future. The Young Leaders programme not only teaches essential skills but also gives young people the confidence and accreditation they need to take their next steps. We’re delighted to support NE Youth in their work to empower the next generation and we remain committed to supporting projects that make a real difference in our communities.”

Simon Cataudo of NE Youth added:

“Huge thanks to Daniel and The Harrison Foundation, this is an amazing opportunity for our young people to learn, grow, and get ready for the world of work. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this funding will have on the young people taking part.”
